Kanguva Censorship: The makers of Suriya starrer Kanguva are gearing up for the film's release on November 14. The promotions of the pan-India spectacle are ongoing in full swing, with the Jai Bhim star along with co-stars Disha Patani and Bobby Deol kick-starting interactions with the media and fans in Mumbai and New Delhi. Meanwhile, a song from the film, titled YOLO, was unveiled with a lyrical video.
However, the censorship certificate of the lyrical video trended on the day of the release of the track, in which it was mentioned that Disha’s 3-second deep cleavage shot was removed from the lyrical video song. With mixed response to this edit from the netizens, the Malang actress shared a BTS photo from the shoot of Kanguva.
Disha drops a BTS photo from the set of YOLO shoot
After the censorship controversy surrounding Kanguva, Disha dropped a BTS photo from the song shoot in which she was seen surrounded by her team members. In it, she wore a halter neck top, showing off her toned physique. She wrote over the image "Team DxKanguva".
Why was Kanguva's lyrical video censored?
The party anthem from Kanguva, YOLO premiered on October 21. However, the song reportedly went through some modifications before its release. Before clearing the song for the premiere, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) instructed the makers to modify some parts of the Disha Patani in the song.
As per the viral CBFC certificate, the board asked makers to “modify the visuals of deep cleavage exposures, wherever shown in the song. Also, remove/replace the visual of body exposure” in the YOLO song featuring Disha and Suriya. A 3-second portion of the song was modified/trimmed by the makers. A screenshot of the censor board certificate had also gone viral on social media.
