Thalapathy Vijay has been in the limelight for quite a while now. While Leo continues to create new box office records at both domestic and global levels, the actor grabbed the headlines all over again with the official announcement of his next movie Thalapathy 68. Now reports are coming in that Thalapathy 68 will be a science-fiction movie
Thalapathy 68 director's Maanaadu was a time-travel film
Speculations were rife about the film’s genre ever since the official announcement of the project, the rumours are now abuzz that Thalapathy 68 will play around the themes of time travel and artificial intelligence.
If the reports are true, Thalapathy 68 shall be Vijay’s first bonafide science-fiction film. However, it won’t be a new turf for filmmaker Venkat Prabhu - His 2021 film Maanaadu starring Silambarasan too dealt with the theme of time travel and had earned many rave reviews from critics and audience alike for its innovative concept.
Thalapathy 68 music rights sold for record price?
On Tuesday, the makers released a pooja ceremony video with the Leo actor. Thalapathy Vijay is collaborating with filmmaker Venkat Prabhu for the film. Thalapathy 68 also stars popular comedian Yogi Babu, Prashanth, and actor-director Prabhu Deva. Meenakshii Chaudhary has been signed to play the female protagonist in the film.
It was also reported that Thalapathy 68 makers have reportedly sold the film’s music rights for a record price. Thalapathy 68 is being produced by AGS Entertainment, the banner owned by producer Archana Kalpathi. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in as the music director for the film.
On the other hand, Vijay is basking in the glowing box office success of Leo. As per the box office tracker website Sacnilk.com, Leo is estimated to collect ₹15 crore on Wednesday, taking its worldwide collections to nearly ₹480 crore.
