Thalapathy Vijay mobbed by fans as he exits Tamil Nadu rains relief camp, watch video

Thalapathy Vijay has had a relatively tough time as he bid adieu to the year. Vijay attended actor and politician Vijayakanth's funeral, who had been a close friend to the Leo star since they collaborated on 1993 film Senthoorapandi. Also known for his philanthropic efforts, the actor spent the year's last weekend in the rain-struck districts of Tirunelveli and Tuticorin. While several videos from the relief camp have been going viral on the internet, one in particular captures the frenzy Thalapathy Vijay's presence there, brought with it.

Thalapathy Vijay gets mobbed

The video in question in a brief ten seconds, manages to capture the chaos at the location that Thalapathy Vijay's presence brought. The actor can be seen attempting to exit the location as an overwhelming crowd all but swallows him up. The clip however also sees Vijay keeping a cam demeanour through it, despite the raucousness.

The relief camp was organised for the districts of Tirunelveli and Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu which have recently been devastated as a result of heavy rainfall in the earlier part of the month. Thalapathy Vijay has reportedly handed out relief materials to 400 families from each of the two district, coupled with financial assistance.

Thalapathy Vijay's unpleasant encounter with the crowd

Thalapathy Vijay attended actor and politician Vijayakanth's funeral held on December 29. The actor appeared evidently jolted and tearful as he bid adieu to Vijayakanth. However, a rather unpleasant incident occurred as Vijay attempted to exit the location. A video of him making his way through the sea of people also captures a slipper being thrown at him, unprovoked.

While the slipper does actually hit Vijay on the head, the actor managed to exit the situation without any injuries or adverse reactions from his end.
