Thangalaan Box Office: Thangalaan, starring Chiyaan Vikram, premiered on August 15, and is off to a good start at the box office. Despite facing competition from Keerthy Suresh’ Raghu Thatha, the period drama has found it's audience.
Thangalaan earns ₹12.6 crore on Day 1
According to a report in Sacnilk, Chiyaan Vikram starrer collected ₹ 11 crore in Tamil version, ₹1.5 crore in Telugu version and 0.1 crore in Malayalam version, taking its total collection to ₹12.6 crore. Thangalaan reportedly had an overall 71.64%, Tamil occupancy on August 15, 2024.

Directed by Pa Ranjith, the film boasts a stellar cast with Vikram in the leading role. Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltagirone, Preeti Karan and Pasupathy among others.
Thangalaan is produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, Pa. Ranjith, and Jyoti Deshpande under the banners of Studio Green, Neelam Productions, and Jio Studios.
The film has music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography handled by A. Kishor Kumar and editing by Selva RK. This marks GV Prakash Kumar’s first collaboration with Ranjith and his third with Vikram, following Deiva Thirumagal and Thaandavam. Thangalaan is based on on true events that tells the story of lives of mine workers in Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka.
