Reports have been rife that Vijay Sethupathi is working on the sequel of Viduthalai: Part 1. Now, the makers have confirmed the news and shared two intriguing posters offering the first look at Viduthalai: Part 2. The much-awaited sequel will release in two languages - Tamil and Telugu. Viduthalai Part 1 was well received by the audience when it hit the theatres last year and became a commercial success at the box office.

A look at Viduthalai: Part 2 posters

RS Infotainment, a production house, shared a set of two photos offering a glimpse of the crime thriller. In the first poster, Vijay can be seen with Manju Warrier, confirming a romantic tale between them. The second poster showcases Vijay in a fierce never-seen-before avatar. He can be seen screaming and crying at the same time while blood streams down his head. His shirt is also smeared with blood and he can be seen holding an axe. The text on both posters informs that the movie is in the final stage of production.

What else do we know about Viduthalai: Part 2?

The sequel will be helmed by Vetrimaaran, who also directed the first part. It will be produced under the banner RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company.  it is the second of a two-part adaptation of Jeyamohan's short story Thunaivan. It follows Kumaresan, a constable, who is recruited to arrest Perumal, a teacher and leader of a separatist group.

Apart from Vijay and Manju, the movie will also star Soori, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, Bhavani Sre and Saravana Subbiah, among others. Viduthalai originated to be a single film. However, in July 2022, it was reported that it would be split into two parts due to the film becoming overlong and not wanting to trim the film tampering with the story.
