After Sana Sayyad, Baseer Ali Quits Kundali Bhagya, Says ‘I Decided to Move On’

Kundali Bhagya has been making headlines for speculations about its casting. As per media reports the show is headed for another generational leap in story which will prompt a change in the lead characters. It is one of the longest-running TV shows currently featuring Sana Sayyad, Paras Kalnawat and Baseer Ali in the lead roles. Most recently, it has been reported that Baseer Ali too has quit the show. In a new interview, the actor has confirmed that he is serving his notice. 

Baseer Ali says he is on notice period 

In an interview with Pinvkilla, Baseer Ali spoke about being on notice period in the show. The actor said that he too, is unsure when his last day on the show is. He shared, “Well, that's untrue. I had gone on a vacation and resumed the show after that. I hadn't been on a vacation for a long time and thus took some time off. I am currently on a notice period and haven't received clarity over my exit from the show. I am still waiting for the people in charge to update me on the same.”

In the same conversation, the actor shared that he was expecting something else from the show and when he did not get what he was promised, he decided to quit. The actor added that in the future he would look for shows where he has a ‘meatier’ role. He told the publication, “I believe there was a miscommunication. I was expecting something else from the show. I had a few discussions with the team but things didn't seem to work according to my expectations, so I decided to move on. I would love to take up something meatier in future. Having said that, I have immense gratitude for the makers. This was my debut as an actor and I loved essaying Shaurya Luthra so far. It has been a fun ride.” 

Will Imlie star Adrija Roy step in after Sana Sayyad’s exit?

Adrija Roy recently bid adieu to the show Imlie. The actress headlined the daily soap in which she played the titular character. As per a report in Pinkvilla, after her stint at Imlie, Roy will now be seen in Kundali Bhagya. 

A source close to the production of Kundali Bhagya told the publication that Adrija has done a mock shoot with Paras Kalnawat and the makers have reportedly liked her screen presence. This might soon translate into her getting an offer for the show. The reports also suggest that Marathi actress Akshaya Gaurav was also audited for the role, but things did not materialise. The actress will be replacing Sana Sayyad, who is reported to quit the show owing to her pregnancy. However, an official confirmation on the changes in cast is awaited.
