In a new revelation, it is being claimed that Jennifer Aniston had to lose 30 pounds if she wanted to stay in Hollywood and get the role of 'Rachel Green' in FRIENDS. The revelation came as part of Saul Austerlitz's new book 'Generation Friends: An Inside Look at the Show That Defined a Television Era'. In his book, he wrote, "She had to lose thirty pounds if she wanted to stay in Hollywood. Los Angeles was a tough place to be an actress - it was a tough place to be a woman - and Jennifer Aniston’s agent was reluctantly levelling with her. Aniston was hardly fat - everyone could see she was beautiful - but like the show, she would one day become indelibly associated with later made a point of noting, the camera added ten pounds." Jennifer Aniston's career
Jennifer Aniston's career started in the 1990s with the popularity of her character 'Rachel Green' in F.R.I.E.N.D.S. After the show, Aniston starred in hit movies like 'The Break-Up' and 'Horrible Bosses', 'Just go with it' and many more. The F.R.I.E.N.D.S alumna will star in an upcoming comedy-drama web television series with Steve Caroll. In addition, Aniston will star alongside another F.R.I.E.N.D.S star Reese Witherspoon who plays a younger reporter in the series.
Saul Austerlitz's book
Beyond Aniston, the book records several accounts from the popular series. The book documents exclusive interviews with the creators of 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S' as well. David Crane and Marta Kauffman, executive producer Kevin Bright, director James Burrows, and the cast members come together in the book to tell the backstory of America's popular television series. In the book, Austerlitz ensures that the readers get to read about the accounts of the crew present on the set and thereby are made to get a ringside view of their favourite TV series. On September 17, Austerlitz spoke about the book at New York's IFC Center.
