Prachi Desai reveals Ektaa Kapoor, Ram Kapoor's reaction to her quitting Kasamh Se
Prachi Desai quit Ektaa Kapoor's popupar show TV show Kasamh Se, featuring Ram Kapoor to star in Farhan Akhtar and Purab Kohli starrer Rock On!! in 2008.
Prachi Desai made her acting debut with Ektaa Kapoor's popular show Kasamh Se (2006-2008) and within a few years in the industry, the actress bagged her debut project in Bollywood. The actress transitioned to films with Farhan Akhtar starrer Rock On!! (2008) and played the role of actor's wife. Prachi, in an interview, recalled how she broke the news to Ektaa and Ram Kapoor and their reaction to her leaving the show.
When Prachi Desai told Ektaa Kapoor and Ram Kapoor about bagging the film
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Prachi Desai opened up about Ektaa and Ram (who played the lead in the show)'s reaction and said that she saw a "sense of pride and happiness" on their faces. She added that it added a sense of confidence in her and felt that she was doing the right thing.
“The sense of pride and happiness I saw on their faces at the time, almost as if ‘oh this is our little girl and now she’s going to do this’. I couldn’t have asked for anything more or anything better. It also instils a sense of confidence in you. You feel like you are doing the right thing or this is something that you will be proud of later. That just felt so so so great," said Prachi Desai.
How did Ektaa Kapoor and Ram Kapoor react to Prachi Desai exiting Kasamh Se?
Kasamh Se was one of the most popular shows at that time. So announcing that she wanted to leave the show for her Bollywood film was quite a big deal. However, the actress recalled that Ektaa and Ram did not think about their show and worry about TRPs, they were just happy about her growth. Calling it a selfless act, the actress said, "I think it was quite selfless in a sense because they did not think about their show and worry about present TRPs and how can we just let her go. I don’t think that was the thought at all."
"I felt that selflessness is something that you find rarely, someone being happy for you to move on while you are actually collaborating with them. So that was amazing on their part,” Prachi concluded.
