As Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif appeared on 'The Kapil Sharma Show' to promote 'Bharat', comedian and actor Krushna Abhishek took a funny jibe at Navjot Singh Sidhu's exit.
Krushna who was addressing Katrina Kaif said: “Aap Rajneeti karke idhar tak aa gaye. Hamara ek banda hai jo Rajneeti karke yahan se chala gaye."
Salman Khan post this statement couldn't help but burst out laughing.
For those unaware, Navjot Singh Sidhu was sacked from 'The Kapil Sharma Show' after his controversial comments on Pulwama terror attack, a source told ANI.
The channel replaced him with Archana Puran Singh. Cricketer turned politician Sidhu, a cabinet minister in the Punjab government, was an important member of the comedy show.
Reacting to the Pulawama terror attack, which left 40 CRPF personnel killed, Sidhu's comments drew flak from various quarters.
"For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished," Sidhu had said during a media interaction.
Finding the comments insensitive, people started reacting with #BoycottSidhu trending on social media.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan's 'Bharat' also stars Disha Patani, Tabu, Jackie Shroff, Aasif Sheikh, and Sonali Kulkarni , is all set to hit the theatres on June 5, 2019. As per media reports, it is an official adaptation of Korean film 'An Ode To My Father'.
Set in the backdrop of Indian Independence, the film portrays the journey of a man named 'Bharat', played by Salman, in parallel with the journey of the country towards independence. With a tagline that reads: 'the journey of a man and a country together', the film features the actor in five different looks according to his age and profession as it follows his life from 1964 to 2010.
