Kalki 2898 AD: Amitabh Bachchan Is Divine Warrior Ashwatthama In New Poster

The multilingual big-budget sci-fi movie also stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan. It will release on June 27.

After much delay, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD is all set to hit the big screens on June 27. Director Nag Ashwin has assembled a star-studded pan-India cast for his 2-part magnum opus. Ahead of Kalki 2898 AD trailer launch on June 10, the makers unveiled a new poster of Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama.

Big B in a never-seen-before avatar in Kalki 2898 AD poster

As Ashwatthama, Amitabh Bachchan wore washed out clothes. He sported long hair, tied in a ponytail. In an interesting detail, a small light shone from Big B's forehead, hinting that the character may possess some mysterious powers. The character also held a stick and a futuristic weapon in his arms. Behind him is the landscape of a desert that stretched miles.

Some bodies lay on the ground near Ashwatthama and a big vehicle is parked behind him. The new poster has raised anticipation from the sci-fi world created by Nag Ashwin.

Bachchan described working on the magnum opus as 'an experience like no other'. "The mind to think such a product, the execution the exposure to modern technology and above all the company of colleagues with stratospheric Super star presence .. (sic)" he has earlier shared on his blog talking about Kalki 2898 AD.

The film, which was greenlit as Project K in 2020, promises to transport audiences to a world never seen before in Indian cinema, according to the makers.
