Kalki 2898 AD: How Much Did Vijay Deverakonda Charge For Arjuna Cameo In Prabhas Starrer?

Kalki 2898 AD is busy making headlines owing to its box office success. The sci-fi thriller and the actors are receiving positive reviews from the audience. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the movie stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in the movie. The movie also stars several other actors in cameo appearances, including them was Vijay Deverakonda. The actor surprised the audience when he appeared on the screen as Arjuna.

Since then, reports have been rife that the actor demanded a whopping amount for his brief appearance in the movie. However, now a source close to the development has rubbished the rumours.

Did Vijay Deverakonda charge for his appearance in Kalki 2898 AD?

According to a report in Gulf News, a source from Telugu cinema revealed that Vijay didn't even charge a penny for his role in Kalki 2898 AD.  Interestingly, most of the guest actors in the movie didn't charge for their appearance. Whereas a report in Siasat claimed that the actor might reprise his role as Arjuna in the sequel.

Apart from Vijay, the movie also starred Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, SS Rajamouli and Faria Abdullah.

The actor took to his X handle to praise the movie. He wrote, "Just watched the film. I don’t know what to say.. Overwhelmed. Indian cinema new level unlocked. Wth was that! I hope it makes a 1000 crores and more.. #Kalki2898AD.”

Kalki 2898 AD box office collection worldwide day 5

The sci-fi thriller minted approximately ₹50 crore gross worldwide. Adding the fifth-day collection, the total now stands at ₹605 crore, becoming the fourth-highest Telugu movie to achieve this milestone. Prabhas reportedly enjoys a huge fan following in the USA, owing to which Kalki 2898 AD is also receiving all the praise from the audience. It has become the first movie to achieve consecutive five days of $1 million gross in North America.

Meanwhile, the movie is unstoppable in the Indian market. on Monday, the movie witnessed a 60.77 per cent downfall in numbers. The movie could only manage to earn ₹34.6 crore at the domestic box office with a maximum earning in the Hindi version - ₹16.5 crore.
