Murari Re-Release: Mahesh Babu Starrer Mints ₹8.5 Crore In Its First Weekend

Mahesh Babu’s decade old film Murari has returned to the theatres and has set the box office on fire with impressive numbers on the first weekend of its re-release. The film shattering box office records after years proves that some films are timeless.

Within two days of its re-release, Mahesh Babu’s film has minted approximately ₹7.10 crore worldwide, as per the report in Sacnilk. As per the reports of T2BLive, Murari is the second biggest re-release grosser and is expected to surpass Pawan Kalyan’s Kushi which was returned to cinema halls last year. In 3 days, it has collected ₹8.5 crore gross.

With Murari re-release, the cinema halls are packed and viewing has become a sort of a celebration for fans. Murari’s re-release is a testament to the film’s charm, brilliant storyline and acting skills of the actors.

Released in 2001 and helmed by Krishna Vamsi, the film stars Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre, Prakash Raj, Lakshmi and other noted actors in pivotal roles. What’s next for Mahesh Babu?

Mahesh Babu will be next collaborating with SS Rajamouli for the project tentatively titled SSMB29. Despite just being in its initial stages of production, SSMB29 has become one of the most anticipated projects, currently in the works. According to reports, Mahesh Babu will also be required to undergo a body transformation for the film, for which he will soon be undertaking intense workshops, running into months. The actor also visited Germany, wherein he was training with his doctor (and trainer) Dr Harry Koenig.

His last release was Guntur Kaaram. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, the film stars Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramya Krishnan, Poorna and Jagapathi Babu among others. The film, despite underperforming at the box office by the standards of a Mahesh Babu film, has still managed to mint impressive numbers.
