Naga Chaitanya's Thandel plot details revealed, Chandoo Mondeti's film inspired by real events

As Naga Chaitanya starrer Thandel is just days away from going on the floors, a report has been doing the rounds regarding the storyline of the film.

Naga Chaitanya is gearing up to start the filming of Thandel, co-starring Sai Pallavi. The film was officially launched with a puja ceremony on Saturday in Annapurna Studios. Chaitanya's father and superstar Nagarjuna and uncle Venkatesh Daggubati also attended the event. The former switched on the camera for the muhurat shot, while the latter sounded the clapboard. As the film is just days away from going on the floors, a report has been doing the rounds regarding the storyline of Thandel.

What is Thandel's storyline?

According to 123telugu.com, the film draws inspiration from real real-life incident that occurred in 2018 in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. Revolving around the fishing community, the film will be set in the backdrop of a love story and reportedly have some action-packed sequences. Thandel is set for a multilingual release, offering the moviegoers a diverse cinematic experience.

Ahead of the announcement, Naga Chaitanya visited Srikakulam, interacted with local fishermen and explored potential filming sites for the filming.

More about Thandel

Thandel will be helmed by Chandoo Mondeti, marking his third collaboration with Naha Chaitanya after Premam (2016) and Savyasachi (2018). The film also marks Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's second collaboration after their 2021 hit film Love Story. Produced by Bunny Vasu and presented by Allu Aravind through Geetha Arts, the film is expected to release in 2024.

Speaking at the event, director Chandooaid, "It’s a one-and-a-half year of hard work. Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi are ready to give their best. They are motivating me. I promise my team to give my best.”

Naga Chaitanya added, “We have been travelling with the script for one and a half years. I enjoyed every step of the pre-production process. The work happened collaboratively, starting from interacting with the locals in Srikakulam. We worked on Srikakulam slang. I haven’t had this much of an elaborate planning for any of my previous movies. I enjoyed this process.”
