Pushpa 2: Allu Arjun film to release on Independence Day 2024 as planned

Pushpa 2: The Rule is arguably one of the biggest film releases for the year 2024. The sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise has been making the news for over two years, simply for how anticipated the project is. Off-late there were reports that the film might not be able to see through a release on the planned date. Here is the latest update on the same.

Pushpa 2 not delayed

Off late, there were rumours that Pushpa 2: The Rule will not be seeing through its release on the day. However, as per the latest 123Telugu report, the film is well on track to release on the aforementioned date - August 15. The Sukumar directorial will see Allu Arjun reprise his iconic titular role for Pushpa 2 with Rashmika Mandanna also returning to the franchise to reprise her role of Srivalli.

Separately, 2023 saw Allu Arjun being honoured with the National Film Award under the Best Actor category for his portrayal of Pushpa, at the 69th National Film Awards held in Delhi's Udyog Bhawan. Incidentally, Pushpa: The Rise, which released in 2021, was the actor's last theatrical release with Pushpa 2 set to mark an end to his hiatus from the silver screen.

Pushpa 2 is headed for a major three-way box office clash

Not just Pushpa 2, but two other big banner films will be releasing in theatres on August 15. First among these is the S Shankar helmed political thriller Indian 2, a sequel to the director's 1996 film Indian. Kamal Haasan will be reprising his role of Senapathy for the film.

Additionally, Rohit Shetty's star studded Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh and Kareena Kapoor also has a theatrical release slated for the same day.
