Rana Daggubati reveals why he was jealous of Kalki 2898 AD cast after visiting the film's set

Rana Daggubati recalled visiting the sets of Kalki 2898 AD and expressed his fondness for the larger-than-life setup director Nag Ashwin has put together for his two-part, sci-fi film starring Prabhas. Rana has been a key part of the movie's journey and even accompanied the team at the film’s teaser unveiling at San Diego Comic-Con. In a new interview, the Baahubali actor recalled visiting the film’s set and thinking that Ashwin was making “everything he dreamt of”.
Rana Daggubati reveals being jealous of Nag Ashwin
Nag Ashwin directorial Kalki 2898AD combines mythology with fiction in a larger-than-life setup. In an interview with Film Companion, Rana Daggubati admitted being jealous of everyone who is part of the film when he walked onto the sets. In the interview, he said, “The first time I got jealous seeing somebody was when I went to the sets of Kalki. Growing up, visual effects for me was Star Wars. That’s a film that I just loved watching.” He added that his love for science fiction movies was shared by Nag Ashwin as well.
He then recalled that he told Nag Ashwin how he was jealous of the film. The Baahubali actor mentioned, “And when I walked into the set, I was like, ‘Sh*t, he’s making this. Like he’s making everything that I dreamt of.’ And I remember I didn’t talk to him that day. I went back home and I called him and said, ‘Dude, I’m really jealous. I don’t know why.” He remembered the filmmaker telling him that he was assured about the film after seeing the actor getting jealous. Rana concluded by mentioning being excited about the release of Kalki 2898 AD and said, “It’s got the biggest star cast. It’s got everything.”

Helmed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD was scheduled to release on January 12, 2024. However, reports claim that it will be pushed to a later date.
There is no confirmation from the makers on the same, but the teaser of the film did not carry a release date, thus confirming the news. The film stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Hassan and Disha Patani in pivotal roles.
