Thalaivar 170: Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Nani to be part of Rajinikanth starrer?

As the much-awaited release of Rajinikanth's film Jailer draws near, fans are already excited about his next project, Thalaivar 170. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, known for his critically acclaimed film Jai Bhim, expectations for Thalaivar 170 are sky-high. Although the film's official title is yet to be revealed, rumours about its star-studded cast have created quite a buzz.

What sparked rumours for Thalaivar 170 star cast?

On X, formerly Twitter, a prominent movie reviewer shared a list containing high-profile names like of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, Malayalam powerhouses Manju Warrier and Fahadh Faasil, and Telugu star Nani, alongside Rajinikanth. He captioned it "casting buzz", hinting at a possible star-studded ensemble for Thalaivar 170. However, it's worth noting that the production team is yet to officially announce the final cast and crew.

Who's saying what?

The tweet about the casting buzz left fans in a frenzy, especially the mention of Amitabh Bachchan alongside Rajinikanth. If the reports hold true, this film would mark their reunion after a gap of 32 years. Earlier, they appeared in movies like Hum, Andhaa Kaanoon and Geraftaar.

Also, Manju Warrier being considered for the female lead, Fahadh Faasil possibly portraying the antagonist, and Nani expected to make a cameo appearance added to the strong buzz.

Amidst the excitement, there were also reports of Tamil actor Chiyaan Vikram being approached for a negative role in Thalaivar 170. However, the actor has reportedly declined the offer, leaving fans curious about who might eventually take up the role.

Thalaivar 170 is rumoured to be based on a true incident, with Rajinikanth playing the role of a cop. The film is being produced by Lyca Productions, and the music will be composed by the talented Anirudh Ravichandran. With the shoot set to commence soon, fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing another Rajinikanth blockbuster.
