Udit Narayan lodged a police complaint after he received threats on phone calls over the last month. The number has been traced to Bihar and found to be that of the security guard of the singer’s building, though the guard said that his mobile was stolen. Meanwhile, the police have increased patrolling near the veteran’s residence.
Udit Narayan files complaint:
As per reports, Narayan lodged a complaint with the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai, informing the police that he has been receiving threat calls from an unidentified number since the last month.
Upon investigation, it was identified that the name of the caller was Laxman and that the calls were made from a stolen phone. The number was found to be registered in the name of a security guard of Narayan’s building. When questioned, the guard said that his phone was stolen when he was on his way to his hometown in Bihar three months ago.
The case will now be investigated by the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Crime Brance, after it was transferred to the unit by the Amboli Police Station.
Bharat Gaikwad, senior police inspector of Amboli police station, told ANI, "The complaint was filed four days ago and since then we have increased patrolling near Udit's residence."
As per reports, the caller made three calls, one a month ago, the second two weeks ago and the last one on July 23. The caller said that he is aware of the timings Narayan leaves his home and would threaten him.
