US Box Office: Singham Again, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Lead Over Amaran, Lucky Baskhar, KA By Huge Margin

The Diwali weekend saw three Indian movies - Singham Again, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Amaran - claim spots on the global top 10 box office rankings.

Bollywood Vs South Global Box Office: This Diwali saw the release of several big banner movies in both Bollywood and South cinema and all flourished at the box office due to the holiday period. Among those that emerged on top were Hindi releases Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Tamil biopic Amaran, fronted by Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. The movies saw worldwide release with each performing well in overseas markets, including North America.

Hindi releases perform well in the US in the opening weekend

The box office report over the Diwali weekend has revealed that the footprint of Indian movies abroad is increasing. Among the new Indian releases in the US, Singham Again topped the charts with $2.23 million in collections (749 theatres), followed closely by Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which ran in 754 theatres, minting $2.14 million in its first three days.

Back home, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has collected ₹106 crore in its opening weekend compared to ₹121.75 crore collections of Singham Again. Together, the movies have given Bollywood the biggest weekend opening (3 days) by far.

How are South movies performing in the US?

Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi starrer Amaran is leading the way for South releases in the US with $939K collection. It is followed by Dulquer Salmaan's Lucky Baskhar, which earned $668K and Kiran Abbavaram's KA with $412K biz. Kannada release Bagheera collected $35K, BloodyBeggar $17K and Brother $15K.

Three Indian films this weekend ranked on the global top 10 box office chart and earned $53.4 million combined. Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn had a $22.3 million global opening, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 starring Kartik Aaryan scored $20.4 million and Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi collected $11 million.
