Ellen was impressed beyond words after his performance. She took to her Twitter handle and wrote: "Lydian is only 13 years old, and he can play Mozart blindfolded. I’m 61 and I can’t spell Mozart blindfolded. #WorldsBest [sic]"
Ellen was zapped when Lydian told her that he can play on two pianos at the same time. He said, "In my left hand, I can play Mission Impossible and on my right hand, I can play Harry Potter. So, both are different time signatures." Lydian started off with drums and believe it or not, the kid can also play guitar, tabla, and mrudangam.
Lydian has earlier performed in front of the likes of Drew Berrymore, RuPaul, and Faith Hill on The World's Best, a talent-based reality TV show. He left everyone speechless when he played Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Flight of the Bumblebee at a speed of 190 beats per minute.
In India, the kid was clicked with music maestro AR Rahman and he was also invited to Mumbai for the first TED show in India, TED Talks India Nayi Soch, with Shah Rukh Khan as the host.
According to the reports, to polish his skills further, Lydian became a student of Augustine Paul, a veteran music educator and music director of the 125-year-old Madras Musical Association. Under his guidance, Lydian passed Grade VIII piano examination conducted by Trinity College, London.
The little boy has played in several international events, including NBC’s Spanish-language TV show Siempre Niños in Miami in February 2017.
