Delhi Police arrest wanted local robber 'Spiderman'
The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a house thief named Ravi, who is popularly known as 'Spiderman'.Â
The Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a house thief named Ravi, who is popularly known as 'Spiderman'. The 23-year-old resident of West Delhi's Tilak Nagar area was named 'Spiderman' by the Delhi police after it learnt that about his unique style of robbery.
As per police, the house thief scales up to the first floor or the second floor of a house and enters through balconies or open verandah, much like the fictional character of the same name.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West, Monika Bhardwaj said that they had received data regarding regular burglars from the neighbouring police stations and carried out discrete verification of all those criminals.
"We had received data regarding thieves and burglars from the neighbouring police stations and carried out discrete and clandestine verification of all those criminals. Finally, the team was able to single out one criminal," said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West speaking to news agency ANI.
During the investigation, the 'Spiderman' disclosed that he used to operate in wee hours when the patrolling teams generally used to return to the police stations.
"His involvement was found in 7 cases of theft, out of which six cases were registered in Kirti Nagar police station under Section 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These six cases have been worked out following the arrest," the police added.
