Delhi Police arrests Nandu gang members after 15-minute gun-fight

Four robbers were arrested in New Delhi today for carrying out an armed robbery in the Dwarka area. The members are believed to be members of the Nandu Gang

Four armed robbers were arrested in New Delhi on Monday for carrying out an armed robbery in the Dwarka area. Sources said the police team of southwest Delhi was working on a tip. According to the tip, four members of the Nandu gang were planning to commit an armed robbery in the Dwarka area. After the Delhi Police received the tip, a team was formed to nab the thieves.

“The police expected the criminals to open fire after being confronted by the Delhi police team in the Roshanara area of Dwarka. The police asked them to surrender but instead, they opened fire at the police team in a bid to flee from the crime scene.  We too launched a counter-attack. The cross-firing went on for fifteen minutes,” said a source.

After a cross-firing of fifteen minutes, the police team took all the four members of the gang into custody. The arrested culprits were identified as Gulshan, Amit Guliya, Anil and Balu. They have been arrested under the arms act, attempt to murder, extortion, robbery, kidnapping, and other cases.

Accused believed to be a part of the Nandu Gang

All the four accused are believed to have been part of the Nandu gang. All the arrested criminals will be produced before the Dwarka court. The Delhi police is planning to seek a police remand from the court to further interrogate the criminals.

Early on Monday morning, the Delhi Police arrested another shooter who is believed to have been a member of the same gang. The shooter identified as Kapil Sangwan was arrested by the Special cell when he was on the pretext of carrying out a robbery. He was arrested by the cops after a long chase and a round of open firing. During the open firing, the culprit also suffered a leg injury. A case under various IPC sections was registered against him by the special cell.
