A national capital school, Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya (RPVV), in Delhi's Sector 10 Dwarka, has topped the rankings for best schools released by an education portal in Delhi. Two other government-run schools have made it to the top 10 spots. Education World (EW), a portal for educators, teachers, and parents comes out with rankings for schools every year. This portal ranks the schools on the basis of marks scored on 14 parameters, such as, teacher welfare and development, teacher competence, academic reputation, co-curricular education, sports education, life skills education, individual attention to students, leadership/management, parents involvement, infrastructure quality, internationalism, special needs education, value for money and community service.

The second position in the list is shared by Kendriya Vidyalaya - IIT Madras, Chennai, and GVHSS for Girls, Nadakkavu, Kozhikode. The number three position is occupied by Kendriya Vidyalaya - IIT Bombay, Powai. The other Delhi government's schools, RPVV Lajpat Nagar and RPVV Rohini have improved their rankings this year. While RPVV Lajpat Nagar has jumped one position and is now ranked as fifth, RPVV Rohini got into the top 10 and is now at 7th, the statement said.

Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings 

While different portals have been releasing rankings for different schools and colleges, the Times Higher Education came out with the top World Universities rankings a few days ago. No Indian institute featured in the top 100 of the lists released by ‘THE’.  IIT Ropar was the one institution that made an appearance above the 300 ranks. The director of IIT Delhi called out ‘THE’ for using 'perception-based parameters' instead of focusing on 'Research Impact' which caused the Indian institutions to rank low on their list. He also put up a long post on Facebook criticising the ranking methodology used by ‘THE’ to come out with results.
