Shiv Sena’s youth wing President Aaditya Thackerey is all set to contest elections from Mumbai’s Worli assembly seat. Sources of Republic have said that his candidature from Worli was approved in Shiv Sena’s internal meeting. However, the Party President Uddhav Thackerey is yet to take a final call on the decision.
Official announcement to be made soon
According to sources, the party is expected to make an official announcement soon. The party’s leaders in the Worli Constituency have already started the preparation. Speculations about Aaditya Thackerey contesting in the 2019 assembly have been raised for a long time now.

Aaditya Thackeray was present at a rally in Worli on Monday, he was joined by Shiv Sena leaders Sachin Ahir, Arvind Sawant and Sunil Shinde.

Shiv Sena Earlier Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant said that Aaditya Thackeray is the rising sun and Maharashtra needs him. The party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut also said that Maharashtra needed a young ‘CM’ like Aaditya.
The BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra
Meanwhile, it is also being said that Shiv Sena and BJP will again form an alliance for Maharashtra Assembly elections and are likely to announce their seat-sharing formula soon. Maharashtra's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Chandrakant Patil on Tuesday expressed confidence that the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is in steady and they would get 220 seats in the upcoming Assembly elections.
"Discussions on the alliance is at the last stage. Those who are thinking that alliance will not happen are going to be disappointed. I am confident that we will get 220 seats in the upcoming assembly elections," ANI had reported.
