Yatra to thank the people
Thackeray is currently the President of party's youth wing, Yuva Sena and has been playing an active role in politics over the last few years. Aaditya has been on a Jan Ashirwad Yatra since July and completed the fourth phase of the yatra on September 18. In the four phases, he has covered 111 assembly constituencies in 25 districts. He is going to begin the fifth phase on Tuesday, October 2 from Nagpur. At the time of the announcement of the yatra, Yuva Sena Secretary Varun Sardesai said, "Aadityaji had visited all Lok Sabha seats from where Shiv Sena candidates were contesting in the State. It was due to his hard work that the party won 18 LS seats. It is the demand of the people that he visits every tehsil before Assembly elections. Therefore, he has decided to launch the Jan Ashirwad Yatra from July 18. He will interact with the youngsters, and with people across various sections of the society during his yatra." Thackeray's name is also doing the rounds for the post of Deputy Chief Minister.
Raising his voice for Aarey
Over the last one month, he has raised his voice on the issue of trees being cut in the Aarey forest in order to facilitate a metro shed. He has strongly criticized the move and has called on CM Devendra Fadnavis to reconsider the decision and stop the cutting of the trees in the Aarey forest. He also called out the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) to consider the damage it will do to the ecosystem. The Maharashtra CM reacted to the political newbie's comments and said that the latter's intentions were 'noble', but he did not see the intentions of those who are opposing the move.
