Amit Shah to address three rallies on first day of Haryana campaign

Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Wednesday would start the BJP campaign ahead of the Haryana elections. Shah will hold three rallies in the State on the first day of the election campaign. He will address rallies in Kaithal, Hisar, Bhiwani, and Rohtak districts. Also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) campaign in the State from October 14. PM Modi, the star campaigner of the BJP, will be addressing four rallies across Haryana over two days. 

BJP poll campaign in Haryana

On October 14, Amit Shah will address rallies in Fatehabad, Panchkula, Karnal, and Gurgaon. Also, PM Modi will address his first rally in Ballabhgarh in Faridabad district on October 14, the BJP said in a statement. On October 15, PM will address three more rallies in Dadri, Thanesar, and Hisar, the statement said.

The BJP has fielded Commonwealth Games medallist Babita Phogat from Dadri. Party's working president J P Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also address election meetings in the run-up to the polls. Nadda will address four rallies on October 11 in Sirsa and Gurgaon. On the same day, Adityanath will also address election meetings in the State, it added. 

Earlier, the BJP on October 4 has released the list of its star campaigners for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. The list consists of 40 BJP leaders including Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh who will lead the assembly poll campaigning. The party has also roped in actor-turned-politicians and BJP lawmakers like Sunny Deol, Hema Malini, Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, and Hans Raj Hans to campaign for the party in Haryana.

Haryana Assembly elections

According to the Election Commission (EC), the Haryana Assembly elections will be held on October 21, and the counting of the polls will take place on October 24. Further, the elections will be concluded on October 27, as stated by the Chief Election Commission (CEC), Sunil Arora. According to the EC, Haryana's assembly term expires on November 2. The Maharashtra Assembly elections will be held simultaneously.
