As the counting has begun for the assembly election of Haryana and Maharashtra on October 24, Dushyant Chautala of Jannayak Janata Party (JPP) has said that the key of the upcoming government of Haryana will be in the hands of his party. Speaking to media in Jind district of Haryana, Dushyant Chautala predicted that there could be a hung assembly in the state. He added that JPP will act as a kingmaker in such a situation. On being asked about its probable alliance, he said that the party will hold a delegation level meet after the results are out and after speaking to each and every member, the decision will be taken.

Dushyant Chautala said: "Haryana has taken its decision. The hard-work of every worker will be paid. Haryana will choose a new party. I can at least say this right now that the key to the government of Haryana will be in the hands of JJP. Early trends are coming in. The final result will show what course has been taken by the people of Haryana. But the love and support that has been to us, I can say that Haryana needs a change. They want a transformation from those who burned the state and destroyed the state for five years. You will witness a change within hours. Let the result come in, then we will decide which party we will ally with. As per exit polls, there can be a hung assembly, nor BJP will get 40 seats neither  Congress will get 40 seats, JJP will be the kingmaker."

The results of the Haryana's 90-seat Assembly which went to polls on October 21 will be out in a few hours. With BJP CM Manohar Lal Khattar eyeing a second term, the main opposition to the saffron party is Congress which is eyeing to stop BJP's ever-expanding base in the states across India. Chautala's JJP is giving competition to both Congress and BJP in at least 10 seats after it was formed as a result of tussle within the INLD. As per early trends, BJP is leading over Congress in the state.
