Sonali Phogat loses Adampur seat to Cong's Kuldeep in Haryana
TikTok star Sonali Phogat who had secured a BJP ticket for the Adampur seat in Haryana has lost to the three-time MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi from the Congress party.

TikTok star Sonali Phogat who had secured a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket for the Adampur seat in Haryana has lost to the three-time MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi from the Congress party. Speaking about losing the seat, Phogat said, "The results for all the seats have not been declared yet, the trends show 35 to 36 seats for BJP now. BJP will surely secure the majority vote share. We tried our best to get involved with the people in this year’s election and we accept the people’s decision. We will try harder in the next term."
According to the Election Commission of India, Phogat lost with 27.80 percent of votes. Bishnoi, on the other hand, has bagged 51.66 percent of votes in the state for the Adampur constituency. Although the TikTok sensation has secured 34,169 votes, Bishnoi has secured 63,483 votes, bagging the Adampur seat. According to reports, based on her popularity in Haryana, the BJP had given her a ticket to contest the elections. Apart from being a TikTok sensation and a TV personality, Phogat is the National Vice President of BJP's Mahila Morcha. She is also in charge of the Scheduled Tribe wing of Haryana, New Delhi.
Bishnoi confident on winning
Speaking to the Republic TV on Thursday, Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi who is contesting from Haryana's Adampur constituency said that he is confident of winning the seat. He further added that he did not enjoy fighting the polls against his opponent Sonali Phogat. "I have been blessed by my supporters of Adampur. I am leading with 16,000 votes in the five rounds. I can't be more thankful to my supporters," said Bishnoi.
Haryana Assembly polls
In the Haryana Assembly elections, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is contesting against the opposition Congress and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP). The current term for Haryana's Assembly will come to an end on November 2. Further, out of the 90 Assembly constituencies in the state, 17 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 73 seats fall under the General category.
