When questioned about his way of relaxing, PM Modi responded saying that he relishes a cup of chai twice in the day, and that its better under the naked sky.

He said, "I have one habit. I can't do it, but it was my habit. I have a habit of drinking chai at 5 AM in the morning, I don't take sugar. I have no problem, but dont have a habit. And then evening at 6 PM. During the day I have it if I sit with someone as a courtsey. But at 6 PM I have a habit of drinking chai, it feels like my body requires chai. But I enjoy it when I'm beneath the sky, alone, I love this. I do this even here, even at my office."

Furthermore, he shared of his earlier days wherein he travelled away from civilisation in soltitude during Diwali, where there was just pure water to drink and his bare minimum necessities, he stated how this was like 'he is going to meet himself'

He said, "Secondly, I used to never celebrate Diwali, in Diwali I used to go somewhere for 4-5 days. I used to carry the basic requirements and I used to research places within forests, where there are no people, but there should be pure water available to drink, I used to go live in such places. Back then we didn't have TVs, I never carried the radio or newspaper, not even a paper and pen, not even a book, nothing. I used to live alone for 4-5 days."

"In a way it was like I am going to meet myself. That was a big strength in my life, but I cannot do that. But I did this for a long time and it gave me strength. I used to let my thoughts flow and never wrote anything down. Just stayed as it is," he added.
