Mahindra Group Chairman, Anand Mahindra has posted a video of PV Sindu playing in the 2017 BWF World Championship Final to show the link between her success and her ‘rigorous workouts’. A day earlier, he had shared another video on Twitter of PV Sindhu’s fitness routine at the gym.

He recommended that people should watch the video of PV Sindhu playing after having a look at her extreme workout. Anand Mahindra wrote this makes it clear how much PV Sindhu’s success is linked to her rigorous workouts. He further added, the narrow ‘saves’ in this rally were only due to her fitness and agility.

A video posted by Anand Mahindra on August 27, went viral in which PV Sindhu can be seen doing a number of high-intensity exercises in the gym. Mahindra said that he is ‘exhausted’ by just watching the video and described the workout as ‘brutal’. He further stated because of her hard work, no mystery remains about why Sindhu is the World Champion. He also added that a whole generation of budding Indian sportspersons will follow her lead & not shrink from the commitment required to get to the top.

PV Sindhu created history

PV Sindhu recently won a gold medal at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championship and became the first Indian to do so by beating Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-7 in 38 minutes. Sindhu had the last laugh in her third consecutive final after she failed to win the gold in 2017 and 2018 edition of the BWF World Championship and had to settle with the silver medals. She had also won bronze in 2013 and 2014 edition and thus becoming the first Indian shuttler to win five BWF World Championship medals. She also became the 4th singles player ever to have a full set of world championship medals.

A grand welcome to the country

PV Sindhu was welcomed in an exhilarating manner on her return to the country. After arriving, she met Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and later also had an interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She was accompanied by her coach Pullela Gopichand. After meeting Sindhu, PM Modi tweeted, "India’s pride, a champion who has brought home a Gold and lots of glory!" Kiren Rijiju too shared a picture with Sindhu on Twitter and presented her a cheque of Rs 10 lakh.
