Shahid Kapoor’s use of the word ‘chutzpah’ in ‘Haider’ had turned it into a phenomenon that lasted for a substantial amount of time. The word came into the limelight again when Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra used it to laud his Twitter follower’s big request to be gifted a car from his company. However, the successful businessman that he is, he hilariously wrote that he couldn’t do so since his company would shut down.
Thanks, but no thanks
A ‘big fan’ of Anand Mahindra didn’t hesitate before asking the veteran for a car for his birthday. Mahindra seemed impressed by his ‘chutzpah’, and even explained a ‘word lesson’ by writing its pronunciation and meaning from a dictionary, “extreme self-confidence or audacity (usually used approvingly).” He then used it by using in a sentence, “love him or hate him, you have to admire Vipul’s chutzpah.”
One of the most important rules to become a successful businessman is to be extremely judicious with the finances. And Mahindra showed it by writing, “Full marks for chutzpah, Vipul, but unfortunately I can’t say yes. Mera dhandha bund ho jayega!”
Mahindra’s wordplay
Vipul’s tweet was in response to another of Anand Mahindra’s brilliant wordplays, when he said that a recently launched bus from the company should be titled ‘Tom Cruzio’ since this was ‘Mission Possible.’
Mahindra had similarly got into a hilariously conversation with Anil Kapoor over the word ‘Jhakaas’ . He had quipped that he was praying that Anil won’t sue him for ‘Intellectual Property violation’.
