Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra group, shared a video of an innovative wheelchair on Twitter which has started making rounds on the internet. Mahindra, while sharing the video, urged the people of India and China to come up with such innovations that can help a differently-abled person.
Urges India and China to innovate
In the video, the innovative wheelchair opens from the seat helping a man easily get on it and indulge in the daily-life necessary activities. Mahindra called the wheelchair priceless as it makes life sick and aged people easier. Anand Mahindra said that the video was apparently from China and almost 3 billion people from India and its northern neighbour should contribute towards such innovations.
This is apparently from China. With almost 3 billion people between us, it would make sense if all the innovations that help the afflicted come out of our two countries. Netizens in awe of innovative wheelchair
Social media was highly impressed with the enhanced features of the wheelchair for differently-abled people after the entrepreneur tweeted the video. The video has been retweeted around 2,000 times and got almost 90k views after Mahindra shared the video on October 24.
A user shared an image of a hand wash sink, on Mahindra’s tweet, attached to the commode where the water can be re-used to flushing the toilet.
“Great innovation & Mahindra sirji can influence commode manufacturers to switch to new commodes & govt mandate sale of such commodes to save water. In Japan it is nation & in India it is self & hence Indians fail always,” wrote a user.
"#innovation is just step zero, someone needs to make a marginally profitable business out of these innovations to ensure #reach and #impact to those who need these #gadgets. Perhaps perfect time to allow #csr spend to fund such business and let #goodwill spread," wrote another user.
