Arun Jaitley passes away: Rajnath Singh hails his service to India
Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley passed away on August 24, Saturday. Condoling his demise, Defence minister Rajnath Singh said that BJP will miss him.
Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has passed away at the age of 66 on August 24 after being admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi on August 9. Paying his condolences to the BJP veteran, defence minister Rajnath Singh said that he will be remembered for pulling the economy out of the gloom and putting it back on the right track. expressing his grief, he said: "The BJP will miss Arunji’s presence. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family."
Rajnath Singh condoles the demise of Arun Jaitley
Speaking to news agency ANI, Rajnath Singh expressed his condolence: "I have been telling this very often that Arun Jaitley has been a person who was available for the party as well as for the nation. The whole world knows that he gave immense contribution. Person like Jaitley was an asset for the party as well as nation." He also said that he will be heading to New Delhi from Lucknow in a short while.
In a series of tweet, Rajnath Singh said that he is deeply anguished at the demise of his friend and called him an efficient politician and a proficient lawyer. He paid his tributes to the leader saying that he has served the nation in various capacity and that his knowledge and behaviour earned him many friends across the politicial spectrum.
ARUN JAITLEY WAS ADMITTED TO AIIMS
On the day he had been admitted to AIIMS, the hospital had issued a statement saying that he was being given treatment in the ICU under a multidisciplinary team of doctors, and that at that point he was haemodynamically stable.
His unfortunate demise marks the end of an extraordinary career that has witnessed him holding incredibly important positions at various levels, both in the government and outside.
Jaitley, 66, had been visited by several top leaders of the country since his admission. President Kovind visited AIIMS last week, PM Modi visited him immediately after his return to the country from Bhutan. Union Minister Home Minister Amit Shah visited him several times. Dr Harsh Vardhan, Delhi Chief Ministers Arvind Kejriwal, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, as well as senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi had also visited AIIMS to inquire on the former union minister.
