Assam is one of the states that partakes in hosting legal lotteries. As the state government handles the system, any changes in the Assam lottery can be made at short notice. The tickets are sold for a base price of ₹6, each. The prize money for the first winner is ₹10 Lakhs. Only 13 states in India are allowed to conduct lotteries. These are Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland and Mizoram.

Assam Lottery has different kinds of lotteries, which have different cash prizes. All three major types have five prizes which have multiple winners. With the tickets priced so low, the Assamese population can easily buy a ticket for the same.

WHERE AND HOW TO CHECK?

The lottery's head office is located at PWD-IB Complex, Tengapara, Kokrajhar, Assam 783370.  According to their official website, one ticket is eligible for winning only one rank, whichever is the highest in terms of the prize money. The results for the lottery can be checked on the official site - http://assamlotteries.com/. Apart from the main Assam Lottery, a Bodoland Lottery is also conducted. Those results go live at 4:00 pm every day. You can check daily and old results on their official site - http://www.bodolotteries.com/. This lottery is managed by the Government of Bodoland Territorial Council (Assam). The first prize for each kind of lottery is ₹50,000, the second prize is ₹7000, third prize is ₹3500, fourth prize is ₹200 and fifth prize is ₹100. The sixth prize of ₹50 is also available. The ticket can be bought for two rupees.
