A man in Bihar got bail instead of another man of a same name. In Bihar's Siwan district, due to 'slip of pen' of the Patna High Court, another man's address was typed in the release paper of the bail instead of the one who was granted bail. Both the person shared the same name - Gul Mohammad. The man who was granted bail was not released, instead the one who shared his name was released. The story was reported by news agency ANI.

WHAT IS THE MATTER?

Incidentally both of them were charged for robbing and serving their respective terms. Informing about the incident, Siwan court's advocate Brajesh Dubey said that in February 2019, robbery was reported from Guthni village in Siwan district by a person called R Tiwari. While investigating the Police had registered a case against Gul Mohammad of Sahasrav village as well as Gul Mohammad of Odikhor village in the Guthni PS of Siwan district. When appealed for the bail, the Gul Mohammad of the Odikhor village was given a bail by Patna High Court after being denied a bail in Siwan's court.

However, in the release paper of the bail the address of the Odikhor village's Gul Mohammad was typed, while bail was provided to that of Sahasrav village. Following the error the advocate of Gul Mohammad told the Police that it was 'slip of pen' and was not intended by the court. he also said that this will be rectified. Meanwhile the Gul Mohammad from the Odikhor villae surredered to the Police when informed about the situation.
