The BJP on Sunday kicked off a pair of programs geared towards the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, with party president Amit Shah initiating 'Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat - Modi Ke Saath' and the 'Sankalp Patra' initiative. Amit Shah launched the month-long campaign Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat with Union Home Minister Ranath Singh seeking views and suggestions from at least 10 crore families to help BJP draft its 'sankalp patra' (manifesto) for the upcoming general elections in the country.
"The visionary policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has helped establish the foundation for long term development in the country, where previous regimes in the past 30 years have not taken any concrete steps to resolve problems", BJP President Amit Shah said during the event.
In his address, he went onto speak about the developments in the Modi government, by highlighting on the difference between the governance before and after 2014.
"Before 2014, for over 30 years, there were coalition governments. During this time, about 10 crore families used to wonder if the government can deliver whether the multi-party system had failed? Amid such doubts, the 2014 polls were held and people voted for the BJP and government led by Modi ji with the majority was formed," Mr Shah added.
Commending the Modi-led government, Shah said, "After 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre has managed to improve the country's condition. His visionary policies have laid the foundation for long term development in the country," Shah said.
The BJP President said, "In 2019, the BJP and its allies will again urge people for their support. We will reach out to 10 crore families asking them how they want India to be. They will be able to reach us via Whatsapp, website and e-mail soon."
PM Narendra Modi also tweeted seeking suggestions and feedback from people in the unique effort by the BJP," What you all share will form the blueprint of our 'Sankalp Patra' for the 2019 elections.
Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat is a campaign to involve every Indian in shaping future India. Through this comprehensive campaign of one month starting from Sunday, the BJP will endeavour to connect directly to 100 million people to take their suggestions to prepare its manifesto for the General Elections.
In order to become a real reflection of the public's suggestions, this campaign will try to reach the masses through various mediums."Since last five years, we (BJP) have been very encouraging for the overall development of the country. In order to improve India's economy, we have also succeeded in bringing unprecedented change by providing better standards of living to millions of people," said the official statement from the party.
