BSF personnel succumbs to COVID-19 in Manipur; toll rises to 14

A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel succumbed to COVID-19 in Manipur on Sunday, taking the northeastern state's coronavirus death toll to 14, a health official said.

A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel succumbed to COVID-19 in Manipur on Sunday, taking the northeastern state's coronavirus death toll to 14, a health official said.

The 44-year-old BSF personnel was admitted to state- run Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here on Friday with chronic kidney disease and pneumonia besides COVID-19, he said.

He died on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment, the official said.

Manipur has registered 4,390 COVID-19 cases till Saturday evening. The number of active cases in the state is 1,938, while 2,438 people have recovered from the disease so far.

The recovery rate among the COVID-19 patients in the state stood at 55.53 per cent on the previous day.
