Minutes before the touchdown, the communications from Chandrayaan-2's Vikram lander to ISRO's ground station in Bengaluru was lost on Saturday. Taking to Twitter over the development, BJP chief and Home Minister Amit Shah said that Indians are proud with ISRO's achievement with getting Chandrayaan-2 so far. Adding that India stands with the committed and hard-working ISRO scientists at, Amit Shah extended best wishes to them for their future endeavours.

Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal also took to Twitter and said that the nation remains hopeful and courageous and having no doubt that India will cover the last mile SOON. Saluting the work and huge efforts of the ISRO scientists, the senior BJP leader added that they have made India proud.

Responding to the development, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath also stated that the nation is proud of the scientists. He added that the scientists at ISRO have been a source of perennial inspiration for all of us with their vision, commitment & tenacity.

PM Modi says 'Be courageous'
Earlier, speaking to the ISRO scientists at the monitoring centre in Bengaluru, PM Modi said that the nation is proud of them and asked them to be courageous.

Contact with 'Vikram' lander lost
Making the announcement, ISRO chief said that the Vikram lander descend was normal and as planned till 2.1 km. He added that subsequently, the communication was lost and the data is being analyzed.
