CHANDRAYAAN 2 LIVE UPDATES: Here’s where you can watch the landing!
Chandrayaan 2 is going to make an attempt for a soft landing on the south pole of the moon. The event will be streamed live on various streaming platforms.
On September 7th, The lander Vikram with rover Pragyan will attempt to make a soft landing on the surface of the moon. A one of its kind mission, India will become the first country to explore the lunar south region. After successfully landing, The Vikram module will deploy a rover which will initiate 3D mapping of the area and chemical analysis. The mission is scheduled to go on for one lunar day which translates to 14 days on Earth. Chandrayaan 2 has two primary objectives: to map the lunar surface and to study the south pole of the moon.
Chandrayaan 2’s lander Vikram will begin the landing to the surface of the moon between 1:30 and 2:30 AM on September 7th. The live telecast is set to telecast from 1:10 AM on Doordarshan. National Geographic also has a special program on Chandrayaan 2 scheduled to start from 11:30 PM on September 6th. NASA astronaut Jerry Linenger will host the special National Geographic program.
People streaming online, Chandryaan 2 landing will be streaming on the ISRO Youtube channel. The official Youtube channel for Doordarshan will also stream the landing. Hotstar is expected to host live streaming as well.
