Chandrayaan-2: Sunny Deol hails ‘another giant leap’ as ISRO successfully launches historic Lunar mission

The Indian Research Space Organisation gave a massive reason for the citizens to be proud as Chandryaan-2 set off successfully on its journey to the Moon on Monday. The praises and good wishes for the ISRO dominated social media after the  GSLV MK-III 'Bahubali' Rocket launched its way to space in all its glory at 2.43 PM. Actor and Member of Parliament, Sunny Deol was among the celebrities who hailed this significant achievement and termed it as 'another giant leap.’

Sharing a photograph of the moment when the Chandrayaan 2 set off for its 48-day journey, Deol tweeted, “Another giant leap.. Congratulations @isro .#Chandrayaan2 #MoonMission2 “ 

Earlier in the day, several other stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu had similarly expressed their pride at the successful launch of the mission.

 Chandrayaan 2 launch:

Chandrayaan-2's rocket lifted off at the scheduled time of 2:43 PM on July 22. The average distance between the Earth and the Moon is 3, 84,000 km. Vikram lander will land on Moon on the 48th day of the mission starting from Monday approximately on September 9. This moon-lander and rover mission proves that India is taking lead in space exploration as its mission aims to investigate the unexplored south pole of the moon. With Chandrayaan-2, India aims at the soft landing on the Moon. If successful, it will be the fourth country after the US, Russia, and China to do so.

Celebrating the successful launch of India's lunar mission Chandrayaan-2, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) announced the successful injection of its indigenous GSLV MK-III rocket- 'Bahubali' into the Earth Orbit.
