Days after former Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram was lodged for judicial custody at the Tihar jail in the INX Media case, he has levelled similar allegations of vendetta and injustice against the investigative agencies. In his first tweet after being in judicial custody, Chidambaram clarified that he has asked his family to tweet on his behalf. He then mounted his attack saying that people have been asking him about other arrests in the case and he has no answers to them. He then said that no officer has done anything and he does not want anyone to be arrested. Below are his tweets:
I have requested my family to tweet on my behalf the following :-
— P. Chidambaram (@PChidambaram_IN) September 9, 2019
People have asked me 'If the dozen officers who processed and recommended the case to you have not been arrested, why have you been arrested? Only because you have put the last signature?'
I have no answer.
No officer has done anything wrong. I do not want anyone to be arrested.

Chidamabaram's arrest in INX media case
Earlier, after 55-minutes long drama the CBI arrested Chidambaram from his residence for custodial interrogation in money laundering and corruption cases. This came after Chidamabaram's plea seeking anticipatory bail in the INX media case was rejected by Supreme Court on Tuesday. Chidambaram had approached the Delhi High Court with an anticipatory bail plea in the corruption and money laundering case against him. During arguments in the court, both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had opposed his plea on the ground that his custodial interrogation was required as he was evasive during questioning.
