Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Fit India Movement,' the Sohan Yoga Institute of China, brainchild of Sohan Singh, is planning to establish 30 yoga centres across India including newly created Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The state-of-art yoga facilities will provide pro-bono training and Sohan Yoga also plans to invest more in India, especially in Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir. Sohan Singh, the founder of China's Sohan Yoga Institute, said, "While the centres will be spread across the country, the two new UTs will remain the primary focus."

Sohan Yoga to invest in India

An expert in couple yoga, Sohan Singh said that Yoga is for unity and stressed on the significance of yoga for an individual's unification with oneself. He said, "Our main aim of introducing couple Yoga is that we want to induce the feeling of two people being together who matter the most to each other." Couple Yoga might be a novel concept for India but is a quite common thing in China and is a form of yoga in which a couple can exercise together developing health, wellness and strengthening emotional connect, all together. Singh said, "The centres proposed will be spread across India but will focus primarily on the newly formed Union Territories and will also provide pro-bono training to youth. Just like the Indian government, we aim at providing the youth of Ladakh and J&K with a new shot at a better life as yoga is about new beginnings as well. We want to invest in their future. We believe the people of the region need a healing touch while they move towards greater integration with the rest of the country," he added. Singh also said that the plans of organisation are subject to government's approval and expressed hope to get the required government permission soon.

"When it comes to Yoga and its practice, India and China have close ties. When we think of Couple Yoga and the history shared by the two countries, India-China relations are a match made in heaven. We want to use this opportunity to take this relationship a bit higher," said Singh.
