Coimbatore: AIADMK flagpole causes another accident; blame game on

Just a few weeks after 23-year-old Subhashri lost her life after an illegal AIDMK poster fell on her, another similar incident has come to light in Coimbatore.

Just a few weeks after 23-year-old Subhasri lost her life after an illegal AIDMK poster fell on her, another similar incident has come to light in Coimbatore. 30-year-old Anuradha AKA Rajeshwari who was commuting on her moped, lost control, fell down and injured herself when trying to avoid an AIADMK flag post. Post her fall, A speeding lorry which was following her, ran over her right leg, causing severe fracture of the right limb. She is said to be taking treatment at a private hospital in Coimbatore.

Blame game on

The incident, however, has sparked off a blame game. While her family alleges that AIADMK flag was responsible, the police are of the view that it was an accident. "Anuradha working in a private company was on her way to the office when one of the serially placed flag post for an AIADMK functionary’s wedding almost fell on her. Trying to avoid the flag post, Anuradha swivelled her bike slipped and fell on the road with a lorry running over her legs" says her uncle Sivan who reached the spot immediately after the accident. Anuradha’s family also claims that cops are trying to cover up the accident and so is DMK president MK Stalin.

MK Stalin in his tweet said that  "Allegations are against the police that they are trying to cover up the accident caused by an AIAMDK flag placed on the roadside which has injured Anuradha. Another woman has suffered due to AIADMK’s publicity rage. When will this end?"

Meanwhile, Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy who spoke to the media at Salem said he is not aware of the incident, he added, "I don’t have any information regarding this incident. Once I get the information I’ll look into it. The Madras High Court did not say flag post should not be erected as far as I know"

The police have also filed FIR only against the lorry driver for his driving negligence and its been investigated by the traffic investigation team. There is no complaint given by the family members yet on the illegal flag posts subject and no action has been initiated by the police on the matter. Police also claim that checking the erection of party flag posts doesn't fall under their jurisdiction.

According to sources, Tthe AIADMK flag posts were placed as decoration for the wedding function of AIADMK functionary Yoga Master Swami Bomivardhan. The posts were kept for a distance of 5 km each.
