Congress mocks Amit Shah, puts up 'Ram Teri Ganga Maili Ho Gayi' posters after BJP chief's Kumbh holy dip
Amid the prevalent poster war between the Congress and BJP party in the political discourse, the Rahul Gandhi-led party has stooped down to another low. A day after BJP chief Amit Shah visited Prayagraj and took a holy dip in Ganga river at the Kumbh Sangam, Congress party workers have put out an appalling poster targeting Amit Shah.
Amid the prevalent poster war between the Congress and BJP party in the political discourse, the Rahul Gandhi-led party has stooped down to another low. A day after BJP chief Amit Shah visited Prayagraj and took a holy dip in Ganga river at the Kumbh Sangam, Congress party workers have put out an appalling poster in the backdrop of his Kumbh visit, in what can be termed as a major insult to the national president of ruling BJP party.
In the poster, the Congress party workers wrote, 'Ram Teri Ganga Maili Ho Gayi Amit Shah Ko Dhote Dhote' in Hindi, which translates to 'Ram your Ganga has become polluted while washing Amit Shah'.
Take a look at the poster here:
BJP party president Amit Shah was joined by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his Prayagraj visit when the two leaders took the holy dip in the Ganga river at Kumbh, along with other BJP officials.
This is not the only insensitive attempt by the Congress party to target to the BJP party leaders over their Kumbh visit. Earlier in January, Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor took a jibe at the U.P BJP cabinet led by CM Yogi Adityanath, after they had taken the holy dip in the Ganga river at Kumbh Sangam. Taking to Twitter, he had attempted to make a remark contrasting the clean 'Ganga campaign' with the holy river being a place for cleansing 'sins', and had added an immature comment about people being unclothed.
"Ganga bhi swachh rakhni hain, aur paap bhi yahi dhone hain. Iss Sangam mein sab nange hain. Jai Ganga Maiya ki!" he said in a tweet. (Ganga has to be kept clean, and sins also have to be washed there. In this sangam (meeting point of rivers) everyone is naked. Hail Goddess Ganga!), Tharoor had written in his tweet.
His comments had invited massive criticism after he targeted the beliefs and customs of crores of people who visit the Kumbh Mela from all across the globe.
