AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, while talking about the recently released BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) report, attacked Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan for using fewer samples for the survey and “spreading rumours”. He accused Paswan of lying to the nation. This comes as the CM of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal on Monday accused Paswan of releasing a "false and politically motivated" report. The recently released BIS report shows that Mumbai has the best water quality and Delhi the worst.

Sanjay Singh attacks Paswan

AAP MP Sanjay Singh, while about the BIS report of clean drinking water supply, said, “He (Ram Vilas Paswan) is spreading rumours and just false things. He should not lie to the whole nation. He just took the samples of 11 places for releasing the report. NGT is slapping a 10 crore fine to UP, but Paswan is not saying anything against this. I have written a letter to Paswan asking him to reveal the method that he used for sampling. My message to him is that he should stop engaging in petty politics. It seems as if BJP has no work, other than blaming Kejriwal. They should know that BJP has polluted mindset, they need to get it checked”.

Arvind Kejriwal and Ram Vilas Paswan’s war of words

The Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan spoke about the BIS report in Lok Sabha during the Zero Hour. He said that the water supplied by the Delhi Jal Board is not fit for drinking. While the rich and middle class use ROs and other purifiers or depend on bottled water, the poor suffer, he said after some Lok Sabha MPs from the capital raised the issue besides that of air pollution.

CM Kejriwal rejected the report prepared by the Bureau of Indian Standardisation (BIS) as "false and politically motivated". Paswan also challenged Kejriwal to name officials for a team to go out with BIS officials and collect the samples from anywhere they wanted to. Paswan said, “Let them go to any area, pick samples and get them tested from any lab. I challenge Kejriwal to name his officials by today evening or tomorrow or day after”.
