The Delhi Congress Committee President Subhash Chopra has accused the AAP Government in Delhi of colluding with the BJP to grant Ajay Chautala furlough. Ajay Chautala, father of JJP's (Jananayak Janata Party) Chief Dushyant Chautala was granted furlough after 14 days from Tihar Jail.
Subhash Chopra questions AAP
The leader alleged the decision was taken as if both the parties are allies. "The application for furlough would have to be routed through the Delhi Home Minister and if the AAP Government says that it has not given them permission, it is a big lie," he said. Chopra alleged that Kejriwal Government was helping the BJP as the 'AAP is the B Team of the BJP' in a joint press conference with other Congress members.
"They (Delhi government) have been lying and misleading people that they had no role in granting furlough to Chautala. The jail manual says that the prison officials can grant the permission after due clearance from Delhi government's home department," Chopra said.
However, Chairman of the Campaign Committee of Delhi Congress, Kirti Azad said both AAP and BJP were 'shadowboxing' to mislead people.
"This is a well thought out strategy. The same AAP government had earlier this year refused furlough to INLD supremo O P Chautala because the AAP had announced its support to INLD's rival Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) for the Jind (Assembly) bypoll," he added.
'Corruption Washing Machine'
Earlier, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday termed the furlough as 'corruption washing machine.' "Akhil Bhartiya corruption washing machine is on," she said in a tweet.
Ajay Chautala's furlough came following the BJP and JJP alliance in Haryana. Manohar Lal Khattar took his oath as the next chief minister of the state on Sunday with JJP chief Dushyant Chautala as his deputy. Ajay Chautala and his father Om Prakash Chautala were convicted in January 2013 by a Delhi court in connection with illegal recruitment of over 3,000 teachers.
