The high pollution levels in Delhi have been among the most discussed topics in the country in the last few days. Not just politicians, celebrities associated to the sports and film fraternities too expressed their concerns over the same. The latest to do so was Milind Deora. The Congress leader had a quirky take on the Delhi pollution situation, quipping that he was reminded of the climax of Batman Begins as he wore a mask to protect himself as he landed in the capital.

Milind Deora on Thursday shared a selfie from his car, wearing a black mask that covered the lower half of his face, as he arrived in Delhi. The former Mumbai Congress President tweeted, “As my flight descended into Delhi, I was reminded of the climax in @DCBatman Begins. The scene where the villain drowns Gotham City under a blanket of poisonous gas. And I thought - Delhi needs a masked superhero.”

Previously, Priyanka Chopra’s mask selfie from her car in Delhi a few days ago had also gone viral. The actor had then stated, “Shoot days for #thewhitetiger. It’s so hard to shoot here right now that I can’t even imagine what it must be like to live here under these conditions. We r blessed with air purifiers and masks. Pray for the homeless. Be safe everyone. #airpollution #delhipollution😷 #weneedsolutions #righttobreathe.”

On Friday, East Delhi Member of Parliament Gautam Gambhir got embroiled in a controversy after he skipped a high-level meeting of the capital’s pollution level. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party took a dig at the former Indian opener after his  earlier comments on the pollution situation. Gambhir was a part of the commentary panel in the ongoing India vs Bangladesh Test match.

Despite the implementation of the odd-even rule by the Arvind Kejriwal-led government, there has not been any notable difference in the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi.  As per reports, even on Friday, the AQI was found to be 467 in Delhi at 10 am. AQI levels over 400 are considered ‘severe’. Earlier, there was massive row over the Indian vs Bangladesh first T20I being held in Delhi despite the pollution crisis. Dia Mirza, Arjun Rampal, Swara Bhasker, had all expressed their thoughts on the situation over the past few days.
