Union Environment Minister, Prakash Javadekar on Sunday said that the entire world supports India on the revocation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir despite Pakistan knocking several doors, including that of the United Nations. Javadekar was speaking at a press conference marking NDA government's 100 days in office. The Union Minister further added that no other government in the past has taken so many people-friendly decisions in its first 100 days in power. According to the Union Minister, scraping the article 370 and to make the practice of instant triple talaq a penal offense were some of the major people-friendly decisions taken by the government.

Javadekar on Modi Govt's 100 days

Javadekar heaping praises over the BJP led NDA government said that the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisational Bill, 2019 which abrogated Article 370 and bifurcated the state into two- Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh was the "biggest decision" and that only "few minor incidents" have take place since the communication blackout announced on August 5.

Extolling the government, he said, "The biggest decision taken was regarding Article 370,35A and formation of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. It's been 35 days and only a few minor incidents have taken place. The situation is returning to normalcy and this will further help the people to get employment in their own region."

Along with that, Javadekar mentioned about the government's roadmap to raise India in the $5 trillion economy league and asserted that there was no reason to "panic" over the current status of the economy.

He said, "The current economic situation is temperate and there is no need to panic such situations have happened many times in many countries. He further asserted on the UPA's tenure and said that there were similar situations but there was no need to panic as these are temporary conditions which will be better soon.

Congress takes on Modi government

Meanwhile, the Congress party alleged that there has been "no development" in the first 100 days of the NDA government.  Congress' senior spokesperson Kapil Sibal, said that the government's 100 days in office have been characterised by "arrogance, uncertainty and vendetta politics". He attacked the dispensation over issues such as the state of the economy, the situation in Kashmir, the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam and action by probe agencies against opposition leaders.

"Three words that describe the first 100 days of BJP 2.0 - tyranny, chaos, and anarchy," the Congress said earlier in a series of tweets.
