Digvijaya Singh's allegations: Madhya Pradesh BJP leader lodges an FIR
BJP leader Satish Arora on Monday lodged a criminal case against senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh over his allegation that BJP takes money from Pak's ISI
A BJP leader on Monday reportedly lodged a criminal case against senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh over his allegation that BJP and Bajrang Dal take money from Pakistan's spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). BJP's city unit general secretary Satish Arora reportedly lodged an FIR against Digvijaya Singh at the Chandausi Kotwali police station. Arora told that an inquiry as per him complaint has been handed over to Sub Inspector Rajesh Kumar Pandey of the police station. The move came after Congress veteran Singh on Saturday gave the controversial remark of nexus between BJP and Pakistan's ISI. However, on Sunday, backtracking from his statement, Singh claimed that Madhya Pradesh's Police has caught Bajrang Dal and BJP taking money from ISI.
BJP slams Digvijaya Singh, calls him Pakistan's Navratna
Speaking at party's press briefing, national spokesperson Sambit Patra on Monday said: "Congress has a 'Navratna' leaders who are responsible for such kind of careless statements. The main jewel in that Navratna is Digvijaya Singh. Others are Rahul Gandhi, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, Shashi Tharoor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Salman Khurshid, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Sam Pitroda. Though they are in Congress, they are Pakistan's 'Navratna'. Pakistan is proud of the statements made by the Congress durbar. Pakistan PM Imran Khan himself is seen quoting their statements frequently. How does DigvijayaSingh know that how many of Pakistan's ISI spies are non-Muslims? ," he said.
Demanding an answer from the party's interim-party president Sonia Gandhi, he said that Digvijaya Singh is a senior leader in Congress and former CM. Touting Congress' hate for PM Modi, he said that they did not know when they crossed a line, going against the nation. He also said that such statements gave oxygen to Pakistan's ISI.
"BJP is the biggest political party in the world. Putting allegations on BJP stating that 'BJP takes money from ISI' is shameful and serious. We demand an answer to this from party president Sonia Gandhi. Digvijaya Singh is a former CM, Congress' general secretary, and senior MP. If such a senior leader says such a statement do we keep quiet? Hating PM Modi, these people do not know when they cross the lines and start going against the nation. These statements give oxygen to Pakistan's ISI," he added.
Digvijaya Singh's allegations
Stirring controversy Congress Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh, on Sunday, alleged that the BJP and Bajrang Dal were taking money from Pakistan's ISI. He also stated that BJP was not part of India's freedom struggle, unlike the Congress. Questioning where they were in 1947, Singh condemned BJP's nationalism. He also made a big allegation that most Pakistani spies in India were non-Muslim.
"Our fight with BJP and Sangh is ideological. They did not participate in India's Freedom struggle. Now, they are giving us advice about nationalism. Where were they before 1947? Where were they when Indira Gandhi destroyed Pakistan into two? The number of Pakistan spies found in India are majorly non-muslims. Muslims spies are fewer. Bajrang Dal, BJP - they are taking money from ISI," Singh said.
