Five people were killed in a suspected terror attack in the Kherbari village in Assam's Tinsukia district on Thursday evening. It is reported that the heinous crime was committed by United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), though, they denied having any role in the act.

Hours after the incident, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee condemned the attack, and hinted that the NRC could have been the reason behind the crime. 

Following this, the Trinamool Congress called for a protests against the killing across the state of West Bengal.
