Former President Pranab Mukherjee celebrated the occasion of International Yoga Day on Friday at the Iyengar Yoga Centre in New Delhi.

Former President Pranab Mukherjee celebrated the occasion of International Yoga Day on Friday at the Iyengar Yoga Centre in New Delhi. Taking to Twitter, he shared his belief saying that it is only perhaps Yoga that can provide a complete answer to a person's physical, mental, moral and spiritual well being in a holistic manner. 

Responding to Pranab Mukherjee's words of wisdom on the benefits of Yoga, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said it is "wonderfully expressed by Pranab da". He further added that it is a matter of pride for the entire nation that an eminent statesman like Pranab Mukhejee enriched the Yoga Day celebrations with his blessings and participation.

Marking the 5th International Yoga Day, PM Modi performed Yoga with around 40,000 enthusiasts at the Prabhat Tara ground on Friday. Talking about the importance of Yoga, he said that everybody should practice the ancient Indian discipline lifelong. The Jharkhand capital was selected as the venue for the main event for the day. Other than that, several other programs were organized across the country to mark the day are were led by Union ministers, including Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh.
